Arthur Tom Holtby ⁴⁰

  General Notes:

Tom Holtby farmed Trinity House Farm in (North?) Ferriby, which, as may be inferred, belonged to Trinity House. After Tom died, Fanny continued to farm there, probably with the assistance of her sons Clifford and Tom, who were also farmers, at Tythe Farm, Ferriby. After her death Trinity House reclaimed the land and pulled down the farm, and houses were built on the site. Clifford Holtby was the father of Patricia Holtby, who married John Byass of High Eske. Arthur married Fanny Byass, daughter of Thomas Byass and Sarah Elizabeth Griffin, on 6 Mar 1900 in Driffield district, Yorkshire, England.⁴² (Fanny Byass was born on 30 Aug 1870 in Skirlaugh District, Yorkshire, England ²³ and died on 8 Jun 1953 in Tithe Farm, Yorkshire, England ^22,35.)
